Farmstand exists to jumpstart New Orleans’ post-COVID-19 cultural economy in three critical industries: Hospitality, Entertainment & Farming. These are the core elements of Emily’s everyday life. Farmstand Entertainment is the brainchild of Emily Vanlandingham and was her final project for her master’s degree.

Emily graduated as one of the 21 students in the inaugural Master of Food Business program at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in September 2020.

She holds a B.A. in Communications specializing in Film & Media from George Mason University and attended the CIA for the Culinary program.

She has spent the last 10 years running her own business called Locally Preserved which manufactured products using local produce. This created an additional revenue stream for otherwise under-utilized farmers across the south.

She has also worked as a culinary producer on food TV programs, radio shows and events.

Long-term, she is specifically interested in Food Economics and focusing her professional efforts on studying our global food system.

Emily was also the founding board Treasurer of the New Orleans chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. She currently holds the Vice President of Programs board seat and hosts their monthly virtual culinary book club. The book club hosts notable authors in the culinary industry for the discussion.

She lives in the New Orleans area with her son Grayson Bleu and their Bernedoodle named Wella.
